Upasana celebrates Indian art and culture through workshops, classes and performances by showcasing the very best to the British audiences. It engages young children and the local community with Indian artistic culture and heritage with a focus on South Indian classical dance and music. It was started in 2004 in Manchester by Deepa Ganesh. Over the years it has partnered with other dance teachers of bharatanatyam to build a dynamic dance community in the North East of England.
